One thing I noticed about being a journalism student is that the Internet age is surely a scary one. But I would rather use it to my advantage than let it devour me in one gulp.
And another thing I learned in journalism – and have come to love – is its aspect of human storytelling. I love interacting with the subjects of interviews, whether they be everyday people or celebrities. There is always one story about a person that will stick with you.
I decided to start my own blog because I have been wanting to make one for myself ever since I was little. I wanted to share my thoughts because I didn’t want to stay in a box and write in my journal anymore. I named this blog “Dazed Culture” because I felt like the world around me was moving in such a fast and agile motion, sometimes leaving me dazed about what had just happened. But soon I knew that if I looked more into what had just occurred and processed in my mind little by little, I would understand.
Fun tidbits: For now, I’m on the second book of A Song of Ice and Fire series, as known as Game of Thrones series. I’m also reading “Asking For It” by Kate Harding, and “Bad Feminist” by Roxane Gay. Other than that, Netflix is my solid companion while I continue my studies in journalism and politics at New York University.
I hope you enjoy my blog, and thank you lots for visiting!
